It's (almost) Christmas! Just as Halloween wraps up, the Queen of Christmas, aka Mariah Carey, emerges from her lair to fill our heads with her biggest hit all day long. Soon, the thousands of chocolates and an abundance of Advent calendars will make their grand entrance into our lives. But before that, Paris is getting ready to don its festive lights: all the major department stores are dressing up in their finest decorations to brighten the capital and one by one, they are unveiling their new holiday displays for 2024. The season has officially begun!

A Colorful Christmas at BHV

This year, BHV is kicking off the festivities starting this Wednesday, November 6th at 6:30 PM, with a spectacular sound and light show. It’s a chance to see what the store has prepared for us this time around. And after having everything set up...

On green last year, the most famous bazaar in Paris decided to mix things up this year by taking on color as a whole. In partnership with French illustrator Limistic, they’ve created pop and lively windows to transform the department store into a huge enchanted house filled with mischievous elves.  And for this very first inauguration, it's Marc Lavoine and Adriana Karembeu who will be joining the fun !

The train arrives at Printemps Haussmann

The next day, we’re heading to Printemps Haussmann to keep the festive spirit going! After Isabelle Huppert two years ago and Catherine Deneuve last year, this year the fabulous Juliette Binoche will take the reins to inaugurate Printemps Express. The store's Christmas train will travel through woods and forests before making several stops along the windows. In each of these, passengers made from recycled fabrics will immerse us in the excitement of year-end celebrations. It’s the perfect occasion to celebrate 100 years of Christmas windows at Printemps!

The Magic Forest of La Samaritaine

On November 8, get ready for a double dose of fun with Le Bon Marché and La Samaritaine. This year, the stunning Art Deco and Art Nouveau store invites us into a fairy-tale enchanted garden, imagined in partnership with Thoiry Lumières Sauvages. Inside and out, giant plants and magical luminous creatures unfold to transform the store into a XXL greenhouse. Each path becomes a wonderful garden, ready to reveal all its secrets and take you on a journey among giant mushrooms, fantastic snails, and other huge butterflies. From...what a feeling to be so tiny !

A Parisian Christmas at Bon Marché

On the other side of the Seine, it is Bon Marché that takes on the heavy responsibility of creating Christmas windows that truly stand out. For the occasion... ```The department store has chosen the theme "Christmas in Paris", and for this, we dive into the role of... the Eiffel Tower ! In typically Parisian decorations, the magic of the holidays comes to life, offering us joyful and playful scenes. Cobblestones, Haussmannian facades, street lamps, and other fountains, all the markers of the City of Light become the backdrop for enchanted games and stories.

130 years of magic at Galeries Lafayette

To wrap things up, you'll have to wait a little longer to admire the lights of the last of the great Parisian department stores. So, mark your calendars for November 14 at Galeries Lafayette, which this year is celebrating its 130th Christmas! An extraordinary anniversary, orchestrated by Kevin Germanier, who was at the helm of the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Bright and shimmering colors, costumes made from recycled materials, and of course, a giant tree adorned with 20,000 sparkling lights under the dome—this is just a sneak peek of what awaits you for this Christmas, 130 times more magical than usual.
