That's it, we are on November 1st, it's official, it's Christmas — almost! Hardly has Halloween wrapped up when the Queen of Christmas, aka Mariah Carey, emerges from her lair to put her biggest hit in our heads all day long. Soon, the thousands of chocolates and the Advent calendars galore will make their entrance into our lives. But before that, Paris is getting ready to put on its outfit of lights: all the department stores are decking themselves out in their finest decorations to light up the capital and one after the other unveil their new festive window displays.
the year 2025. The season has kicked off!
La Samaritaine is Getting Excited
This year, it’s La Samaritaine that’s starting the festivities on Wednesday, November 5, revealing a decoration… all wrapped up! Like a giant gift to unwrap, the department store will be draped in ribbons, both inside and on its facade. These ribbons snake, entwine, and wrap around to immerse us in a magical atmosphere. Everything will be beautifully enhanced by an immersive installation from artist Elsa Tomkowiak. To complete the experience, the window displays will be crafted using fabrics repurposed from Fashion Houses.

Printemps Haussmann takes a bite out of the Big Apple
Right after, we dive into Printemps Haussmann, which, on its part, whisks us to the other side of the Atlantic, to New York. Designed like a travel diary, it promises a true graphic getaway waiting for you, alongside more than 125 characters created for the occasion. Each window transforms into the panel of a comic strip that comes to life before your eyes, immersing you in typically New York scenes. The official opening will also be the perfect opportunity to discover the new godfather or godmother of this event.

The (Good) Christmas Market
To wrap up this first week of window displays, it’s the Bon Marché Rive Gauche inviting you on Friday the 7th. And this year, the big store...The other side of the Seine has decided to embrace the theme of year-end festivities 100%, becoming the perfect archetype of the Christmas village of your dreams. Here, the Alsatian tradition is reimagined with a Parisian twist, featuring wooden chalets and snowy rooftops. On the display side, both young and old can follow the adventures of stuffed rabbits, who will particularly shine at the Chantal Goya fan club…

Galeries Lafayette dives into the festivities
A few days later, we continue the celebration with the Galeries Lafayette on Wednesday, November 12. And it seems like Le Bon Marché and the Galeries have passed the word, as the latter will transform into a real Christmas tale for the entire holiday season. With a simple goal, to take us back to our childhood, illustrator Jeanne Detallante has created a magical world that takes us to the heart of Santa Claus's workshop. The end of the year will also be a chance to discover the new XXL Christmas tree that will take over the department store this year (16 meters high).560 kg of ribbons and 8 km of LED garlands, decorated with designs by Jeanne Detallante.
