With the theme “Paris Villes Lumières”, this new edition promises to transform the capital into a true cultural archipelago under the open sky. A invitation to travel without leaving Paris, and without even having to dig out your passport from the bottom of a drawer!
A festive day in the heart of the most beautiful avenue in the world
After captivating thousands of spectators last year, the Tropical Carnival is back to take over the Champs-Élysées for a grand parade that is free and open to all. Starting at noon, dancers, musicians, and carnival groups from the overseas territories, the mainland, and beyond will make the avenue come alive with the rhythm of drums, choreographies, and vibrant costumes.

The route will stretch from the Champs-Élysées to the Grand Palais, providing a particularly majestic backdrop for this event, which has become one of the must-see highlights of the Parisian summer.
Paris becomes an imaginary archipelago
This year, The Tropical Carnival invites participants to explore a poetic vision of the capital. With “Paris Illuminates”, each group is called to represent a real or imaginary island, a territory of memory, a culture, a history, or an artistic universe. It's a unique way to celebrate the connections between the various cultures present in Paris.

The idea? Turning Paris into a constellation of islands connected by music, dance, and sharing. A program that already makes you want to grab your sunglasses and let yourself be carried away by the vibe.
The must-see summer plan
If you're looking for a free, festive, and refreshing activity to kick off the summer, it’s hard to find better. Between the colorful floats, feathers, brass bands, and thousands of artists gathered for the occasion, the spectacle promises to be as photogenic as it is energizing!
Our tip: arrive a bit early to snag a good spot along the route and fully enjoy the parade. Each year, the event draws an impressive crowd of curious onlookers and regulars.

One thing is for sure: on July 5th, the Champs-Élysées will feel more like a tropical carnival than a Parisian avenue. And honestly, we won't complain about that.
