« I wanna dance with somebody » is not our words, but the lovely Whitney Houston’s! And guess what? This Saturday, May 17, it’s going to be a dancing day in Pantin! For the fourth consecutive year, the event « 1 km de danse » is making a grand return along the Ourcq Canal. It's the perfect opportunity to get swept up in the dance with family, friends, or even by yourself (don’t worry, you'll definitely find someone to dance with!).
Breathtaking performances along the canal
From 2 PM to midnight, Pantin will be alive with the rhythm of music and the moves of its professional and amateur dancers. During this one-of-a-kind event, backed by the National Dance Center, absolutely all styles will be celebrated. Modern jazz, zumba, hip-hop, African dance, classical, and contemporary… Groups, associations, and local conservatories will come together to create an unforgettable experience!
They are here to make you sway and put stars in your eyes with absolutely divine performances.

So, where will this joyful dancing procession take place? Everywhere (or almost) because, as its name suggests, the event stretches along nearly a kilometer in Pantin, along the Ourcq canal. From the North terrace of CN D to the place de la Pointe!Starting at the garden of March 19, 1962 and the Fil de l’Eau theater, you’ll enjoy XXL warm-ups, live performances, and of course, a giant dance floor to let loose in a big way. The little bonus? At the end of the day, after having partied hard and sweated like crazy, we shift to the celebration with dance battles of all styles starting at 6:30 PM, a hip-hop funk show by the Lady Rocks Party at 8 PM, and a fiery DJ set by Jeune Pouce at 10 PM.
