The Editor

We already know Zurich for its numerous galleries and beautiful green spaces, or even for its countless swimming spots, but did you know that the Swiss metropolis is also a capital of gastronomy in Europe? Restaurants, producers, and fresh food merchants work together all year round to introduce you to the best of Swiss cuisine. And in September, they all come together for the Food Zurich festival, with over 100 events dedicated to gastronomy. From September 7th to 17th, 2023, Zurich invites you to the 8th edition of its food festival., where Swiss culinary tradition meets new international trends. For 11 days, over a hundred events will be organized throughout the city: dinners, workshops, professional cooking classes, guided tours, markets, conferences, tastings... Whether you enjoy eating, cooking, or learning, there will be something for everyone! The 7th of September, a grand opening night will also be held at the immense Jelmoli covered market, amidst stalls of regional and international products. To serve you, 7 of the city's finest 5-star hotels, alongside the expert artisans of the Jelmoli Food Market, will be there to delight you. Our favorite addresses to eat in Zurich

In Zurich, eating well is a true art of living. This is evidenced by the numerous restaurants, weekly markets, and producers in the region. Wines, cheeses, vegetables, or fish, here, chefs and restaurateurs use local and seasonal products, selected directly from fresh produce markets.

Gamper

Among our favorite addresses, for example, is the restaurant Gamper, a modern bistro with quality products and especially accessible in terms of prices. In charge of the kitchen, Marius Frehner prepares hyper-seasonal dishes that focus on the essentials. His goal: highlight his products and radically reduce to the essentials. The menu changes every week, or even every day, depending on the arrivals.

At the bar, wine lovers will be delighted.A wide selection of champagnes, white wines, red wines, and even orange wines are available, to be accompanied by delicious cheese and charcuterie boards or small plates made from Lagotto's fine grocery products, located just in front.

Wirtschaft Ziegelhütte

If you are looking for a restaurant that combines refinement, conviviality, and the atmosphere of a small village, then you are in the right place. Ziegelhütte offers simple and artisanal cuisine, yet sophisticated in its presentation, all in the heart of the city. Local meat, fruits and vegetables grown directly in their own garden... Everything here is homemade and made with lots of love.

With a Michelin Guide star, this address is undoubtedly a must-visit.In Zurich, there is a restaurant with an exciting surprise menu, featuring ambitious, modern, and creative dishes that highlight vegetables. We especially love the small, green courtyard, which almost makes us feel like we're in a forest.

Must-visit Markets and Producers

As true reflections of the local culture, markets are an important tradition in Zurich. With each visit, you can wander through the stalls of fresh fish from the lake and local fruits and vegetables, filling your basket and heading off for a delightful picnic in one of the city's parks.
