This ski resort a few hours from Paris has been voted the best in the world!

It has become an unmissable event. Just like every year, the World Ski Awards (aka the Oscars of skiing) have revealed their ranking of the best ski resorts in the world, and a French town, located just 4 hours by train from the capital, has claimed the top spot once again!

Here we go, the temperatures are plummeting in the capital, and they’re even forecasting some potential snowflakes in the coming days, and all we can think about is: let’s go skiing as soon as possible! Great news, we’ve found the perfect resort to satisfy our cravings for powder and sliding: Val Thorens, which just snagged the highly coveted title of best resort in the world. Just that!


A Top Resort

Not only is it the highest resort in Europe, but Val Thorens has also risen even higher by winning the title of best resort in the world. And we totally get it. infrastructures, the modernity of the ski lifts and the location of accommodations. This Alpine jewel, part of the ski area of the 3 Valleys—also made up of Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville—offers ideal conditions from November to May, with over 600 km of slopes (it's one of the largest ski areas in the world!).


An Undeniable Success

This result, while well-deserved by the resort, is not a big surprise to ski enthusiasts, as since the creation of the World Ski Awards in 2012, Val Thorens has won the title no less than 10 times, only being dethroned twice, in 2015 (by the Verbier resort in Switzerland) and 2021 (Kitzbühel in Austria took home the gold). It's worth noting that every year, the resort continues to innovate by offering new runs and new activities, to cater to the every whim of Parisians looking to showcase their skills on the mountain. And this year, icing on the cake, the 5-star Pashmina hotel, located in the heart of the resort, received the award for best boutique hotel in the world.
