The Editor

Last year, the City of Paris made a splash by reopening the Seine for swimming after more than 100 years of prohibition. And now, following the capital, Neuilly-sur-Marne is getting ready to take the same leap, reopening its banks to the public, which have been closed since 1970. What's on the agenda? A 300 m² space, two pools, and a grand opening celebration to mark the occasion.

An Idyllic Space

So, just 30 minutes from the capital, with a quick trip on the RER A, you’ll be welcomed starting Saturday, July 4th at the Rive de Neuilly, and it’ll be open every day until August 30th. On-site, you can enjoy a 300 m² swimming area, divided into two.

pools. One is a 25 meters by 8 meter pool, with a depth of 1.80 meters. The other is 10 meters long by 8 meters wide, with a depth ranging from 40 centimeters to 1.10 meters. Each of these areas will, of course, be supervised by the relevant authorities. The beach will also feature colorful changing cabins for you to change in. All this is available at a price that's more than affordable, as it will only cost you 4.90€ per person, or just 2€ for the locals of Neuilly (yes, that's what the residents of Neuilly are called), for 2-hour time slots.

A Grand Opening Celebration

For the inauguration of the venue, the town hall of Neuilly-sur-Marne pulled out all the stops, featuring free swimming slots from 4 PM to 8 PM, along with free Italian ice cream distribution, musical performances, and a raffle (where you could win pool floats and electric boat rides!). Plus, the first 50 swimmers will have the honor of making their first splash alongside the mayor and a few deputies, and most importantly, they'll get to take home a special collector’s towel! It’s truly a perfect way to celebrate this historic reopening after over 50 years of closure.
