There are traditions that we wouldn't miss for anything, and the Fêtes Luziennes are definitely among them! From Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8, this celebration – inspired by the traditional festivals of Saint-Jean-de-Luz – is making a grand return to Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Three days filled with friendliness, festivities, laughter, and joy. A multigenerational event all in red and black, not to be missed for any reason!

Marching bands, confetti, concerts, and the toro de fuego

We hope you’re ready because for three delightful days, the celebrations will be buzzing in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and we couldn't be happier! The festivities will take place at the Marché-Neuf square and in the heart of the city, kicking off on Friday, June 6th at 5:30 PM with the traditional marching bands parades, a typical instrumental group from the Basque Country. This will be followed by concerts from the Choir and Orchestra of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental Claude-Debussy, the must-see beef from the bands, the confetti battle, the toro de fuego, and, of course, the Basque party with D.J Sprinter on the turntables, ready to make you dance until the middle of the night. In the village, it's all about indulgence with tastings of delicious Basque specialties: fries, axoa, Basque chicken, chipirons, planchas...

The very next day, it's time for a day of celebration starting from 11 AM! Concerts and festive traditions will once again take center stage to create an unforgettable experience for both the young and the young-at-heart. Among the must-see events, there will be a touching performance featuring 350 schoolchildren from various schools in the city, supported by the Conservatory. There will also be a treasure hunt organized by the local merchants' association from 2 PM to 4 PM, perfect for the adventurous spirits. Don't miss the theatrical performances by the Collectif Dans La Peau at 2:45 PM and 5:15 PM, an initiation to Basque dance hosted by the Conservatory in partnership with the Maison Basque de Paris (at 3:15 PM), as well as a Basque cake contest. On the concert side, we’ll have the Sanch family quartet. At 4:15 PM, the Big Band, gathering students from La CLEF and the CRD, will treat you to a musical moment featuring a Jazz repertoire at the Marché-Neuf square at 6:45 PM, followed by entertainment from the Fanfare Sciences Po/Conservatoire starting at 7:30 PM!

If you missed them on Friday or are tempted to indulge again, the beef from the bandas, along with a confetti battle and the Basque party, will return on Saturday. And for pastry lovers, this will be the perfect opportunity to participate in the Basque cake contest with black cherry filling from 4:30 PM to 5 PM. Don't forget to sign up! Finally, on Sunday, June 8, the bandas will present a musical performance at the Marché-Neuf square to beautifully wrap up this edition!

A festive and historic tradition

Every year, the Fêtes...The Luziennes bring this timeless atmosphere to Saint-Germain-en-Laye. For 72 hours, the people of Saint-Germain and the broader Île-de-France region are invited to the celebration. It's an essential but also historical celebration, as the towns of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Saint-Jean-de-Luz have been united for many centuries, particularly through the royal marriage of Louis XIV to Maria Theresa of Spain in 1660. Taking part in the festivities means paying tribute to decades of history. Oh yes, there's one more thing to tell you: the festival is open to everyone, no reservations needed. So, are you ready for the celebration
