We Parisians are incredibly lucky. Not only do we live in the most beautiful city in the world, but our region is also among the most beautiful in France. There are plenty of châteaux, super unique museums, and especially adorable walking and biking trails that are cuter than the next. After introducing you to the most flowery hike in the region, or the most peaceful one, this time, we’re heading to a trail where nature is the star: the Promenade Bleue.

An Extremely Accessible Walk

This walk starts less than 30 minutes by RER from Châtelet, in Rueil-Malmaison, where you'll find the starting point of this lovely trail, which is about ten kilometers long.

on an old towpath once used to pull barges and other boats. Along the banks of the Seine, it offers an accessible escape for both walking and biking, for a quick and simple getaway from the capital. It will take you all the way to Colombes, a bit further north, where a quick ride on the Transilien will bring you back to the heart of Paris.

A Poetic Stroll

Right from the start, by the bridge of Chatou, we are immersed in a Monet painting. A soothing landscape that has certainly inspired Impressionist artists. We don’t hesitate to take a stroll through the park of the same name before we start making our way up the Seine. Along the way, meadows, aquatic gardens, and other play areas delight us. There are wild banks that lead us all the way to Nanterre and the lush Parc du Chemin de l’Île. The second segment, just as green, takes us to the beautiful Parc Pierre-Lagravère in Colombes, where we can enjoy a well-deserved break on a lovely lawn facing the Seine. And the good news is that this lovely path can be enjoyed just as much on foot as by bike!by bike, in one direction or the other !
