The sun is starting to peek out, and all the Parisians are in the starting blocks to find THE sunny spot to hang out on beautiful days. Some will choose the trendy new rooftops to sip a high-up Spritz, while others are looking for places to reconnect (a bit) with Mother Nature. If you’re part of the second category, we have great news for you! Starting this Saturday, March 21, this third place welcomes you with open arms on the Petite Ceinture in the 18th. I’m talking about the Jardin des Traverses, which beautifully combines a charming market walk, a guinguette, and a educational greenhouse.
A hybrid space in the heart of the 18th
Behind the Jardin des Traverses, you'll find a motivated team bringing together the efforts of several collectives like Green Resistance, Urban Orchards, and the Léo Lagrange Federation, all supported by the City of Paris, the 18th District Town Hall, and the Île-de-France region. The idea of the place? To think and build new ways of living together.

After a soft opening in the summer of 2024 and an official opening in April 2025, Le Jardin des Traverses is now a green HQ for Parisians. As the team continues to refine the spaces and enhance the venue, a reopening is planned for Saturday, March 21, for the arrival...cute; springtime.
A Green Pause on the Petite Ceinture
Right there, the Jardin des Traverses offers a serene cocoon where you can escape a bit from the city's hustle and bustle, featuring an 800-meter-long garden path connecting Porte de la Chapelle and Porte de Clignancourt. It's a lovely space to enjoy springtime strolls and engage in sports activities with various aromatic herbs, vegetable plants, and fruit shrubs planted by local associations. You can also find the Educational Greenhouse, an urban agriculture project dedicated to caring for plants year-round, sowing seeds, and participating in a variety of workshops.

And for those looking for a new spot to hang out all spring, the Jardin des Traverses is opening up a cool outdoor bar. It's an open-air bar with a wide range of local craft beers, including those from the Goutte d'Or microbrewery. As for food – and this is the little novelty this year – Chef Joséphine is offering a new plant-based and delicious menu. On the menu, you’ll find a seasonal poke bowl with a rice base, tamago egg, roasted vegetables seasoned with smoked paprika, green onion, lemon thyme, and garden mint.
Guinguette and DJ Sets to Kick Off Spring
To celebrate the arrival of spring in style, the Jardin des Traverses is throwing its reopening party on Saturday, March 21st with music. What's on the agenda? DJ sets from noon to midnight, to groove under the sun and the stars. On the decks, there's a wonderful lineup of local artists, including Louise Pétrouchka, Sapphist Eye, and l’Effort Collectif. The party is going to be amazing!
it plus ? The entrance is free and completely free of charge. So no excuses : let's meet up for a first spring party in open-air !See this post on Instagram
