Just 1.5 hours from Paris, a Harry Potter Christmas market is opening its doors for the very first time this winter!

Temperatures are plummeting, twinkling light displays are popping up left and right, winter is just around the corner, and honestly, all we want to do is visit the nearest Christmas market. But this year, you might just be willing to go a little out of your way to discover something truly special: a market dedicated entirely to the magical world of Harry Potter.

Mariah Carey announced it this Sunday, November 1st: It's time to start preparing Christmas properly. Especially since this 2026 edition promises to be particularly magical. Not only will December 25th mark the release of the first episode of the long-awaited Harry Potter series, but also, a huge Christmas market entirely dedicated to the bespectacled wizard is arriving just a few hours from Paris!


A unique magical gathering

It's a first ever in the history of Christmas markets. While, in recent years, themes have been multiplying (Korea here, Japan there,

rave;, small creators in the north, medieval specialties in the south), no one had previously had the brilliant idea of dedicating one of these events to Harry Potter and his entire crew. Well, that's changed now, as HBO Germany recently announced the opening of a Harry Potter market in the heart of Munich. On the island of Praterinsel, located in the center of the city, visitors will have the pleasure of discovering around ten stalls to immerse themselves in the series' sets. They'll also be able to enjoy photo booths and delicious specialties inspired by the show. This unique event will take place for nine days, from November 28 to December 6, 2026.


A Harry Potter Christmas

This will be far from the only activity to celebrate the arrival of the series, since the streaming platform has also announced the creation of a giant Christmas tree decorated inthe Harry Potter theme. Unfortunately, it will be more complicated for us to admire this one, since it will be built in Manila, in the Philippines. Well, for now, we'll just take a trip over to our German neighbors, and we think that's already pretty great. For the moment, the organizers haven't specified whether entry will be free or not — we promise to keep you posted as soon as we have more info — but they're already announcing quite a few surprises for fans! Anyway, we'll leave you now, we need to grab some train tickets.
