Here comes that time of year we love more than anything in the world, the time when the sun shines again, when you can smell the distinct arrival of spring in the air, when buds start to bloom, giving us the most beautiful show. And when we talk about the arrival of spring, we're talking about Hanami celebrations, this wonderful Japanese tradition where we admire the fabulous cherry blossoms. No need to travel all the way to Japan for that, Île-de-France is packed with spots where you can honor this lovely tradition. On March 14 and 15, 2026, the gathering will take place at the 33-hectare park in Neuilly-sur-Marne.

Cherry Blossoms Open to the Public

As the name suggests, there are no fewer than 33 hectares for you to explore during a lovely stroll in Neuilly-sur-Marne. But the highlight of the show is the 480 blooming Yoshino cherry trees that are waiting for you, ready to be admired for hours on end. Good news: unlike the parc de Sceaux where you need to book to enjoy these beautiful trees, in Neuilly-sur-Marne, you can access them freely for two whole days!

An Age-Old Tradition

This Japanese custom is far from new, quite the opposite! It is believed to have begun around the year 800. Initially a symbol of imperial power, Hanami has become a big traditional festival, where banquets are organized with music, typical dishes, and sake. Even today, it is the subject of great celebrations in the gardens to admire these wonderful flowering trees. Have you planned to go see them?
