a hidden gem for walkers in the Île-de-France (and even more so for trail enthusiasts): the 25 Bosses circuit. Ascents, descents, and 360° views!
To kick off this sporty adventure, head to the Croix Saint-Jérôme, accessible by a handy RER+bus combo or by car. From the very first steps, the setting is breathtaking: white sand, crooked pines, and sculpted rocks – we’re transported miles away from the capital. The trail, stretching about 16 km with 800 m of elevation gain, winds through 25 hills that can be more or less impressive, as we climb sometimes on our hands and sometimes on all fours (yes, yes, don’t be afraid to get a little dirty). And to help you along, it’s pretty straightforward, the path is marked the whole way with easily visible red signs. Follow them. At all costs. It’s a matter of life or… serious injury.

A Mini Adventure Just a Stone's Throw from Paris
Between two climbs, you'll encounter strangely shaped rocks (hello, Turtle!), surprising viewpoints (cross of Lorraine, Guichot Rock, Cailleau…), and sandy areas that could easily rival the Mediterranean. All of this comes with a soothing silence, occasionally broken by the sound of birds… and the shouts of hikers discovering their 12th bump. Expect 6 to 8 hours of walking, with nice breaks (for photos, picnics, or little naps in the shade). Nothing too overwhelming with a bit of motivation!
