If you're a regular visitor to the southern city of the Boot, you definitely haven't missed this. For over 100 years, Pizzeria Da Michele has been delighting Neapolitans with its unmatched pizzas. And we no longer need to catch the next flight to Italy to taste them! They've come straight to us and have set up permanently in the 11th, much to our delight!
A much-anticipated opening, celebrating authenticity
Opened on the evening of September 2, 2025, L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele heated up its oven near Faubourg Saint-Antoine in front of dozens of hungry Parisians. Onsite, the four Neapolitan pizzaiolos – before the training of local pizzaiolos...ux, precise Le Parisien – they roll out the dough and top it with tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic, and other delights before popping it all into the oven, making our mouths water in anticipation. Just one minute in the heat is enough for a wonderfully delicious transformation: a fluffy and light crust, perfectly melted cheese, and a gentle smoky flavor that lingers on the palate…

On the decor side, we stick to traditional Italian, simple and somewhat kitschy. There are vintage photos on the walls, a testament to the rich history of Da Michele, a family institution in Naples for nearly 120 years. You'll also find snaps of Julia Roberts with a pizza in her mouth. Yes, it was here in this iconic spot that the scene from Eat, Pray, Love (Ryan Murphy, 2010) was filmed, where the actress devours a Margherita while stating: “It’s a moral imperative to eat and savor pizza.”
A Neapolitan menu that promises to delight Paris
So, to eat and savor your next pizza, there’s no doubt, you need to head to Da Michele. What’s on the agenda? A continuous service from noon to midnight (no holding back, even in the afternoon), cozy tightly placed little tables, drinks made in Italy like Campari and Aperol, and of course, stunning pizzas, all crafted with love.
