Every year, we celebrate World CleanUp Day, or the worldwide day of cleaning the planet. And for the occasion, we don't beat around the bush, we join a group and get to work taking care of our beautiful planet. In Paris, France, and around the world, groups gather to pick up the trash that accumulates in the streets, on the way to work, around metro stations, on the way to school, in parking lots... 1800 groups are getting organized all over France, with teams working together. Whether we cover campuses, big cities, or small villages, what matters is the willingness and the goal: to beat last year's number, which reached 1,000 tons of trash collected in France. In 2022, there were no less than 15 million volunteers worldwide bending down to clean up around their homes. In Paris, many groups gather for this special day at http://www.worldcleanupday.fr.Events take place in most districts, as they have done every year since the movement was created in 2011 in Estonia. The association, quickly becoming global, helps us realize that all the small actions, brought together in a collective movement, can transform into something huge. After they are collected, the waste is sorted into the correct channels and recycled if possible. If you want to participate (and it's obviously free), all you need to do is join a group with a good pair of walking shoes and a pair of gardening gloves to avoid getting hurt. It's a beautiful way to make a small gesture within reach: to bend down.
