What if we reinvented the way we consume and connect with each other? In Montreuil, La Venelle is shaping up to be a true daily laboratory: solidarity shops, repair workshops, a cultural café-canteen, and shared spaces. All of this is powered by the social and solidarity economy, with a festive program for its grand opening in September.

A space to repair, learn, and create

Here, it’s time to say goodbye to the trash reflex: we’re breathing new life into objects. La Venelle features a large shared workshop, open to everyone, where you can learn to fix a toaster, sew a pair of pants, build a shelf, or maintain your bike. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or just a curious soul, it’s the perfect spot to get your hands dirty, understand, and experiment.

Next to it, several solidarity shops will allow you to discover second-hand furniture, clothing, and everyday items at low prices, all while supporting the social and solidarity economy.

A cultural café-canteen to unwind and connect

In the heart of the village, a cultural canteen will serve as a lively hub for exchanges and urban relaxation. You can enjoy acoustic concerts, film and documentary screenings, exhibitions by upcycling artisans, children’s workshops, and themed brunches. All in a cozy space where you can work for a few hours, grab a coffee… or even just hang out without buying anything at all.

A collaborative, supportive, and festive project

Led by nine organizations from the social and solidarity economy (Emmaüs Défi, Envie Trappes, La Collecterie, Recyclerie Sportive…), La Venelle is designed by and for the locals. Accessible to all generations and budgets, it’s a true concrete model of a circular and inclusive city.

And to celebrate its arrival, three major events are planned:

September 3: opening to the public of the shops, workshop, and café.
September 11: official inauguration with elected officials and partners.
September 20: a big free party open to everyone, with creative workshops, concerts, performances, and fun activities.
