Natural products are all the rage. Firstly, because they are less expensive than the usual toxic "household" products sold in supermarkets. But also because they pollute the air less and therefore preserve our health. We buy them in a drugstore, a DIY store or an organic store, and we choose biodegradable ones to create less waste and CO2 emissions. Let's take a look at the nature-friendly products we should always keep on hand.
White vinegar
This little gem, widely underestimated, works wonders! A clogged sink? A floor to clean? A greasy pan? Don't wait any longer and call on white vinegar, your new best friend. Its properties are simple because it checks almost all the boxes: food preservative, degreaser, descaler, disinfectant,...
ectant, antifungal, deodorant... It can do it all and can be found in every store starting at €0.30 per liter. The legend even says that it has already saved lives.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
The Marseille Soap
We already use it to wash ourselves, but it is also very effective at washing laundry and cleaning almost any surface. For example, it is used in the recipe for homemade laundry detergent that we gave you here, or can be included in the composition of a multi-purpose homemade cleaner. At 3€ for a block, we say yes to Marseille soap. However, be cautious as there are many fake Marseille soaps on the market. The real, good one contains at least 70% olive oil, so keep an eye out.
Black soap
Also very underestimated, black soap is the best friend of white vinegar.Multi-purpose cleaner, degreaser, stain remover, antiseptic andinsecticide, it can be used everywhere! You can find it starting at €3 per liter, but we recommend going for a higher quality for better results. Either way, it should not be used pure, it must be diluted in plenty of hot water, so a bottle lasts forever and you won't have to buy more before the next century (especially if you're not a big fan of cleaning).
Baking soda
This white powder works really well as a complement to white vinegar. It is abrasive, so it's very practical for getting rid of things we don't need, and it easily neutralizes bad odors. Be careful, there is a technical version (the one we are interested in here, about €4 for a 500g bag in stores) and a food-grade version used for cooking. The second one is much less effective! To unclog the bathtub drain, for example, pour some white vinegar followed by a tablespoon of baking soda. Wait a few minutes for the mixture to take effect and then pour a pot of boiling water over it. Voila, all your problems disappear.

Essential oils
Essential oils smell like spring and morning dew and can heal all your problems. Well, maybe not all, but we're still big fans. It's preferable to choose organic oils and pay close attention to the dosage indicated on the bottle because depending on the oil and its use, the effect can be more or less harmful if the dosage is not respected. For cleaning, we recommend using tea tree essential oil which is antibacterial, lemon essential oil which is antiseptic, radiata eucalyptus which repels insects, and lemongrass which eliminates odors. Mix them into preparations like laundry detergent, multi-purpose cleaner, or dish soap.
