It's here, the mercury is playing rollercoaster and winter is winning! According to La Chaîne Météo, after the warm air of the start of the week, the icy air from Scandinavia (-30 °C) is making its way towards us. "The cold air will push south and descend upon our regions north of the Seine," warns La Chaîne Météo. No need to panic: we're talking about "non-excessive" cold, but the wind might make you wish you had grabbed that cozy warm coat.

A Climate Clash in France

This Wednesday, France will be at the heart of a climatic battle! While warm air from the south will make its entrance, it will clash with a mass of cold air coming to brush against the far north, triggering snowfall. The result? **Spectacular temperature differences** that could exceed 10°C... sometimes even within a single region!

Île-de-France: Negative Temperatures on the Way

In IDF, the first chills are expected to drop soon...

It's Friday, January 10, but the real hostilities begin on Sunday, January 12. Expect a little -2 °C to 0 °C at dawn, with a slight improvement in the afternoon (1 to 2 °C). And if you thought the night would be milder, think again! From Sunday to Monday, temperatures are expected to be between -1 °C and -3 °C. A great reason to stay cozy under the covers with a steaming hot soup!

Snow or No Snow?

For snow lovers, Friday could be your lucky day, but snow and rain might mix together to create some slushy fun. Next week looks calm and dry, with even a few beautiful rays of sunshine expected starting Monday. How lovely! It's a perfect excuse to enjoy those little winter walks that we adore, with plenty of crisp air and big blue skies.

Chilly Mornings

The mornings of Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 14, are set to be the coldest of the week. In the southern parts of Yvelines and Seine-et-Marne, temperatures could plummet to a frosty -4 °C. Tuesday won't be any better with mercury floating between -1 °C and -3 °C.

Good news! Wednesday, January 15, will bring a little relief, with temperatures climbing just a touch. And if all goes well, the thermometer should finally break above 0 °C by Thursday morning. Hooray!
