On Thursday, November 21, snow graced the capital and, indeed, a large part of France. The flakes were particularly welcome as Paris dressed up in its festive decorations and Christmas markets. This day definitely made us want to binge-watch all the new Christmas movies recently released on Netflix, snuggled up warmly under a blanket with a hot chocolate in hand (yes, we love clichés). However, this charming winter romcom vibe will be short-lived, as the temperatures are set to rise quite a bit starting this weekend, much to our surprise.

Temperatures up to 13 degrees expected this Sunday
On this Friday, November 22, Paris residents should bundle up as the maximum feels like temperature will be just 3 degrees. Starting Saturday, November 23, you can lighten up your clothing a bit. Although the weather will still be quite gray, you might feel up to six degrees in Paris during the afternoon. The evening and night should be even milder with an average of 8 degrees. It’s a great chance to take a stroll around the various Parisian Christmas markets. The next day, temperatures will nearly double: 11 degrees in the morning, 13 degrees in the afternoon, and up to 14 degrees in the evening with some clear spells.
⛅️ Après une période agitée généralisée, le calme et la douceur reviennent rapidement sauf près de la Manche avec de la pluie et du vent.https://t.co/0qsjbm2izL

A wave of heat from Morocco
This warm spell comes right after the Caetano storm that brought cold weather across France. As of November 22, 29 departments are still under orange alert for snow and ice. A warm air mass coming from Morocco is set to raise temperatures in France. « It will be among the warmest air masses observed at this time of year, flirting with records! It’s safe to say the change is going to be quite striking », specifies Guillaume Séchet, meteorologist, on his site as reported by the Huff .fpost.
