More bike parking spots
Initiated in 2021 by the City of Paris, the "Beautify Your Neighborhood" program aims to “ green spaces, pedestrian areas, build bike lanes [and] change urban furniture ,” as stated by the City on its website. On the Montmartre hill, plans are in place to create bike parking spots, add ground markings, install signage, and permanently remove some parking spaces. These projects follow public consultations open to all residents of the neighborhood to...to allow them to express their voice in transformation projects and to be fully aware of the scale of the construction work.
Construction work that will slightly impact the daily lives of residents
These improvements will have consequences on the daily lives of the residents of the 18th district. The city indicates that the installation of barriers on the roads and the occasional closure of lanes for road markings may occasionally disrupt traffic. However, for pedestrians, « the flow is maintained and protected at all times » and « access for emergency vehicles is ensured ». The goal will be to condense the construction projects as much as possible to minimize disruptions. In the span ofIn four years, 42 neighborhoods have already benefited from the program.
