Often copied, never equaled, La Baguette du Relais stands out as a must-visit spot for street food in Paris! An annex of the Relais de Venise, also known as the entrecôte Porte Maillot, where for 65 years people have been enjoying deliciously grilled flank steak, served alongside golden, crispy French fries, all topped with their famous secret sauce.
A Family Tradition Reimagined
The family business, founded in 1959 by the winemaker from Tarn, Paul Gineste de Saurs, is now run by several of his grandchildren. Among them is Pauline, who heads the historic restaurant at Porte Maillot and is the mastermind behind the new concept La Baguette du Relais.

One sandwich for a unique taste
Here’s the innovative concept. La Baguette du Relais features just one dish on the menu: a baguette sandwich filled with entrecôte and matchstick fries. But the real highlight of this dish is its rich buttery sauce, the recipe for which remains a closely guarded family secret passed down for several generations. A unique dish, but still customizable. You can choose from the classic version, the XL with double the meat, or the BIG with 240g of meat for those with (very) big appetites. There’s also a gluten-free version or one with black bread made from activated charcoal. All served with top-quality ingredients sourced with care.with the same artisans for more than 60 years.

And a little sweetness for the most indulgent
On the dessert side, we have homemade cheesecake and chocolate fondant, all prepared either in the kitchen or by the legendary baker of the Relais de Venise. We pair it all with a glass of wine from the family-owned estate, and that’s a wrap!
