Exploring clubbing culture through photography

With its new exhibition The Beat goes on !, the Quai de la Photo takes us on a journey through decades of clubbing culture. From its birth in the 1970s within the African American, Latin, and queer communities of New York to European raves in industrial wastelands, clubbing culture is unveiled in a selection of international photographs. It’s a vibrant and inclusive celebration of these havens of freedom, sharing, love, desire, struggles, and transformation.

Let’s give a cheer for lesbians at Hasard Ludique!

A young collective created by lesbians for all lesbians, Gouine Culture is part of a movement for collective struggle and resistance, of course, antifascist and antiracist. For its very first evening at Hasard Ludique, the collective has prepared a round table discussion led by five people on the theme “How to build ourselves as racially marginalized lesbians in a white queer world.” This will be followed by an explosive concert by Crash Carnage and two DJ sets by G!ovanight and DJ Zinzine.

We're talking about the history and influence of the African diaspora at L’Arrêt

This Sunday, let's mix food and culture at L’Arrêt, the restaurant by Chef Mashama Bailey, who brings the Southern U.S. cuisine to life with a Parisian bistro twist in the 7th. The chef and her long-time partner, Johno Morisano, not only offer delicious food but also create a hub of gatherings and exchanges by welcoming artists, historians, writers, and musicians from the African diaspora. This Sunday, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Jessica B. Harris, a world-renowned African American historian, who...will put into perspective the history and influence of the African diaspora in Paris with Mashama's cuisine.
