Let's take a reading break over a good cup of coffee

A beloved spot among Parisians, the Used Book Café is also known worldwide as it just snagged the second place on the podium for the most beautiful café-bookstores in the world at the beginning of September 2025. Here, second-hand books only adorn the walls, creating that cosy atmosphere we can’t get enough of. Pair it all with a steaming drink and one of the seasonal delights from the menu, and you’ve got the perfect setup for a well-crafted autumn day.

We're going to see Hooverphonic on the stage of the Élysée Montmartre

Boosted by "2Wicky" in the soundtrack of Stealing Beauty (Bernardo Bertolucci, 1996), Hooverphonic became one of the most innovative bands of their time. Especially after the 2000s, with the release of The Magnificent Tree, featuring iconic tracks like "Mad About You" and "Vinegar & Salt", a magnificent tribute to the band. It's an album celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, celebrated with a European tour, making a stop in Paris at the Élysée Montmartre.

Celebrating the Grape Harvest in Montmartre

This is one of those Parisian events you simply can't miss, no matter the weather—whether it rains (which is quite possible), blows, or snows (less likely, but you never know). This week, the traditional Grape Harvest Festival in Montmartre makes its grand return to the hill for five days of celebrations, tastings in moderation, and discoveries. And the theme for this 2025 edition rings out loud and clear: youth. Through a cultural, artistic, sporting, and of course, gastronomic program, the Grape Harvest Festival celebrates...and to celebrate the dynamism and vitality that uplift the neighborhood and energize everyone, young and old alike, who bring it to life.

Falling in love with dance again

After captivating audiences at the Châtelet, Salle Pleyel, and much of the French-speaking world, Léo Walk is back in Paris. With Maison d’en face, the contemporary dance prodigy and his company La Marche Bleue are taking over the 13e Art Theatre for 12 emotionally charged performances. Set in a dreamy dining room decor, bodies brush against each other, love, and part ways... choreographies of everyday life where poetry meets fragility. A sensitive and magnetic work that explores human connections as a mirror of our time.

We commit with the Feminist Film Festival

Starting this Wednesday, October 8, the Feminist Film Festival is back for its 5th year at the Garde-Chasse cinema in Les Lilas. A new edition to continue the fight for equality and against sexist and sexual violence, featuring all kinds of screenings and discussions. Directors, actors, journalists, collectives, associations, and other professionals in the field come together to question, raise awareness, and share around the works of the 7th art, like a rallying cry against restrictive norms and gender stereotypes.

We’re treating ourselves to a dreamy dinner at Le Vertueux

Just a few steps from the Canal Saint-Martin, a new bistronomic stop has blossomed, featuring white tablecloths, impeccable service, and meticulously arranged plates on the menu. Welcome to Le Vertueux, the place that brings life and warmth to the cooking of Chef Raul Meza (previously at Maison Rostang, Senderens, and l’Orangerie). On the table, a fusion cuisine that combines the best of French techniques and products with Andean spices straight from Ecuador. A magnificent harmony for both the eyes and the taste buds. Let yourself be seduced by the menu!in four steps, and let the show begin: intriguing appetizers, bouchot mussels in escabeche, coconut-crusted cod, blue lobster risotto, Argentine beef fillet with thyme and lemon… And we finish beautifully with a delightful treat: roasted fig with cane sugar, served with Tahitian vanilla diplomat cream, a scoop of fig ice cream, and a cacao crumble. Simply divine.

Rediscovering Orson Welles' Cinema at the Cinémathèque française

Until January 11, the Parisian temple of the seventh art, a.k.a the Cinémathèque française, dedicates its exhibition spaces to the great Orson Welles, director, actor, but also screenwriter, producer, and even playwright. A cinema legend with several stunning masterpieces – including Citizen Kane (1941), Othello (1952), and Touch of Evil (1958) – who managed to impose his particularly innovative style for the time, featuring unique camera angles, disjointed narratives, and long takes. The most Shakespearean of filmmakers, ready to be (re)discovered! My Name is Orson Welles, a chronological exhibition about the life and career of the artist, paired with a retrospective of his feature films until November 29.
