Let's explore the Marais for Paris Design Week
This week, design is taking over Paris! To kick off the week on the right note, head to the Marais, one of the standout neighborhoods of the Paris Design Week. Historic mansions, cobblestone courtyards, galleries and cultural venues are hosting installations, exhibitions and contemporary creations. Here's the insider tip: create your own route and wander from one spot to another, without necessarily needing to book ahead. Among the must-see highlights: PICNIC, an installation by the Cluzel/Pluchon studio in the courtyard of the Hôtel d'Albret, and BAR STOOL, an exhibition dedicated to the bar stool at Espace Brownstone.

Let's catch a concert at dawn
What if, Tuesday morning, we swapped that blaring alarm for a few piano notes? At 6:25am, pianist and composer Alain Roche performs Blue Hour at the Swiss Cultural Center. In a room lit only by the emerging light, he plays Summer Solstice, a piece designed to accompany the sunrise. A suspended experience, between concert and contemplation, for those ready to wake up (very) early. And the timing shifts slightly each day to follow the dawn. So it gets later and later... phew.

Discovering a quirky pirate radio
For three days, the Wallonie-Bruxelles Centre is hosting a fun pirate radio adventure. In its courtyard, the La "S" Grand Atelier collective sets up a genuine temporary radio studio: live broadcasts, performances, meetings and program production all happen right before the public's eyes. The best part? You don't just come to listen to the radio: you discover how it's made by attending broadcasts and performances directly. And it's free!

Off we go to Le Havre for Béton
Craving a change of scenery? Head to Le Havre for the Béton festival, which blends music and architecture throughout the weekend. For this new edition, the festival takes over several iconic venues in the city and brings Le Havre's architectural heritage into dialogue with contemporary music programming. Friday kicks off with conferences and an exhibition at the Fish Market before continuing with the CriBéton Télé and then an opening concert by FIP 360 at Saint-Joseph church. And here's the good news: Paris to Le Havre takes just about 2 hours by train.

We're testing Carrie's delicious Franco-Californian brunch
On weekends, chef Carrie Solomon's charming little bistro serves up a comforting and creative brunch with Californian and Mediterranean vibes on its sunny terrace. On the menu: an ultra-indulgent Caesar salad with sourdough focaccia croutons, crispy zucchini fritters with scamorza cheese paired with preserved lemon aioli, and a delicious tahini-date Italian gelato for a sweet finish. Trust me, you'll be back for more. For sure.

We're wrapping up the week with live piano yoga
Sunday is all about slowing down. Seine Musicale transforms into a huge yoga studio, with pianist Yaron Herman performing live and instructor Stéphanie Cunico leading the session. The class unfolds in two parts: a dynamic first section inspired by Vinyasa, followed by a gentler sequence focused on Yin Yoga and relaxation. All accompanied by piano, ending with a final musical moment where you can simply lie down and listen. No need to be an experienced yogi: the experience is open to all levels. Just remember to bring your mat!
