Discovering (or rediscovering) the work of Richard Avedon at the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Richard Avedon's book In the American West, the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation is highlighting this iconic series captured between 1979 and 1984. It's a journey through the American West with nearly 1,000 portraits of all kinds of people, from miners to cowboys and including fairgoers, vendors, and passersby, always set against a white background that enhances every feature and expression. The 103 works in the final series mark a pivotal moment in Avedon's work, and more
broadly in the history of photographic portraiture.See this post on Instagram

We indulge in delightful Japanese flavors
Tucked away in the 10th arrondissement, not far from the Canal Saint-Martin, Espace Gohan is the perfect little Japanese gem for the weekend. Part canteen, part tea house, part izakaya, this zen space delights at any hour. At lunchtime, Chef Utaco Okuno offers family-style comfort bentos for just 14 €. In the afternoon, we settle down with a matcha latte, a dorayaki, and a manga... and in the evening, the vibe shifts. The izakaya comes alive under the direction of Chef Satoko Onaru. On the menu: edamame with shio-koji, crispy karaage, scallops with tosazu jelly… Every bite is a genuine dive into the heart of Japan. We wash it all down with sake or shōchū, depending on our mood. Sweet welcome, calming decor, guaranteed journey. The perfect spot for a weekend filled with umami.

We're supporting our local businesses!
A lovely community project is blooming in Saint-Ouen… I present to you Fine Fleur, a space for sharing and togetherness focused on agriculture, aiming to bring everyone together for tasting workshops, meetings with producers, screenings, readings… And for good reason, behind this place is Fleur Godart, an entrepreneur, author, and committed feminist who launched a line of activist wines in collaboration with some winemaker friends in 2020. Her new baby, Fine Fleur, is a fresh playground that puts farmers' products at the heart of everything, featuring morning coffee, local lunch in the afternoon, and splendid wine in the evening, as the place gradually transforms into a neighborhood wine bar. Want to support this project? Here’s the link to the Ulule campaign, so you too can be part of the blossoming of Fine Fleur.
