For this 27th edition, it's a real open-air bakery that takes over Place Jean-Paul II (its real name - yes, that's a surprise). For 10 days, from May 7th to 16th, this huge pop-up store offers you the chance to stroll among the wonderful scents of freshly baked bread, to experience the crisp tradition and hear the bread crackle like in Ratatouille, and of course, to enjoy delicious baguettes.
A symbolic date
Since its launch in 1996, the Bread Festival has been the ideal opportunity for all the curious to meet artisans ready to answer all their questions and to share (almost) all their secrets behind the making of a good French tradition. But if it takes place every year at the return of the
La 27e édition de la Fête du Pain se tiendra du 11 au 19 mai sur la thématique : le Pain fête le Sport, en écho aux Jeux Olympiques de Paris ! 🤸

And guess what? This year's Bread Festival in Paris is going to be extra special because it kicks off just two days after France broke the world record for the longest baguette in the world in Suresnes. What an amazing achievement! We hope this incredible feat will be acknowledged and celebrated in some way during the 10 days of festivities in Paris. Let's not forget that the baguette is a cherished national treasure, recognized as intangible cultural heritage by Unesco since 2022!
Get ready for a fun-filled schedule
During these exciting days, you'll have the chance to participate in hands-on workshops to learn all about the traditional bread-making process, from kneading to baking. You can explore different types of bread and, of course, indulge in tastings organized at this massive outdoor bakery. This year, with the Summer Olympics, we'll also be focusing on the nutritional benefits of bread and its unique connection (which can sometimes be a bit elusive) to sports.

Finally, as every year, the Bread Festival will be the stage for a number of contests and award ceremonies, as the winners will be rewarded: the best French tradition baguette, the best Grand Paris croissant with AOP Charentes-Poitou butter, a very specific type, and for the first time this year, the best French sandwich! Rest assured, if the grand winner is in Paris, you will be the first to know...
