Just an hour away from Paris, the city of Provins is getting ready to don its finest attire for its medieval Christmas market. This much-anticipated event will take place this year on December 13 and 14, 2025, a little earlier than usual. It's a chance to dive into a unique atmosphere, blending Christmas traditions and a decor straight out of the Middle Ages.

A historical setting with around sixty artisans on site
And for a good reason: classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Provins is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Île-de-France. Over two days, the Place du Châtel will welcome nearly 60 artisans and creators from all over the region. Carved candles, jewelry, pottery, decorations, clothing, or handmade sweets: the market will shine a spotlight on handcrafted items and local products.

For the atmosphere, we'll have all the Christmas classics: hot wine, waffles, cinnamon cookies, and other delicious treats to enjoy between the stalls. The streets will be beautifully decorated, the merchants dressed up, and the whole town will be filled with a warm and cozy ambiance.
As night falls, the lights will twinkle on the ramparts and the half-timbered houses, creating a magical setting for a winter stroll.

Animations, Shows, and a Visit from Santa Claus
More than just a simple market, the event also offers plenty of free activities. Jugglers, minstrels, knights, and fire breathers will bring the streets to life all weekend long, while the medieval campsite will feature demonstrations and archery workshops.

You can also take a break at the medieval tavern, where dishes inspired by recipes from that era will be served! Of course, Santa Claus will be there to meet the kids and take some memorable photos. And to keep the magic going, the natural ice rink of 420 m² in Provins will remain open from December 6, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
