We really like this month of May with its little rays of sunshine and its abundance of holidays. While some people take advantage of it to enjoy long weekends of relaxation all over France, others enjoy the tranquility that reigns in the streets of Paris. If you belong to this second category and don't feel like spending a fortune, here are some free activities to keep you entertained.


1. Festival Family Pride at La Cité Fertile


This weekend, La Cité Fertile in Pantin is hosting the Family Pride Festival. The idea? Celebrating LGBTQIA+ families, no matter who they are, in all their diversity. The festival is organized by the Collectif Famille·s, which connects, supports, and shines a light on all LGBTQIA+ families. The program includes conferences, workshops, roundtable discussions, meetups, drag shows for both kids and adults, and a fabulous queer disco glitter night… All accompanied by a delicious food and drink selection that we love!

2. Paris Sport Sundays

Come on, get out of your chair or couch, and let's get active! The City of Paris announces the grand return of Paris Sport Sundays and its free sports classes every Sunday morning. Starting this weekend, let's meet from 10am to 11am in different sports centers, green spaces, and public squares in Paris to let off some steam. Accessible to everyone, and for the first time to people with disabilities, these classes, organized by sports coaches from the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF) and affiliated federations, do not require any prior registration. You now have absolutely NO excuse.

3. Free rock concerts at Supersonic

At Supersonic, we rediscover rock, the real one that sweats and makes us vibrate. And the best part is that we don't need to spend a dime to experience this. This weekend, we are tempted by the sounds of American bassist Kate Davis, or an electrifying tribute to Joy Division. Make your choice and see you in the 12th arrondissement.

4. The exhibition CAPITALE(S) at Hôtel de Ville


Urban art, a discipline directly created in public spaces, has been an integral part of the Parisian landscape for several years. It is impossible not to notice the fabulous work of these street artists, unless you walk with your head down. So, for the many street art lovers, Hôtel de Ville offers its free exhibition CAPITALE(S). With this special exhibition, the City of Paris introduces you to the works of 70 renowned artists, prestigious works from collections, archival documents, in-situ interventions, and even off-site creations.

The Celebration of Brittany in the 14th arrondissement A breath of the west wind is blowing through Paris right now with the traditional Celebration of Brittany in the 14th arrondissement. From May 12th to 20th, the highly anticipated Gouel breizh allows us to properly celebrate Breton culture. With activities, concerts, crafts, literature, culinary art, storytelling, crepes, dance, and round tables... For about ten days, Brittany comes to us, bringing its share of festive and friendly joys.
