Each year in France, approximately 9.7 million tons of food waste are produced, including 3.8 million tons of still edible food. An absolutely outrageous figure, and one that seems completely crazy when resources are becoming increasingly scarce, and products are getting more and more expensive. So just days before the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, which takes place every year on September 29, head to Communale to stock up on good resolutions and great food!
Loads of clever tips
To avoid food waste, there are plenty of tricks. Managing your shopping better. Knowing how to transform your leftovers smartly. Learning to read recommended consumption dates. Or even better
store your food. All things that might seem obvious, but aren't always easy to put into practice. Fortunately, this weekend, la Communale Saint-Ouen is offering you tricks of all kinds to turn you into a true food-rescue ninja. HopHopFood, a non-profit organization committed to fighting food waste and food insecurity, and the food court are therefore inviting you to a meaningful, delicious, and free day.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
A Packed Schedule
This second edition, running from 10am to 6pm, is sponsored by Guillaume Gomez, former head chef of the Élysée Palace kitchens, and Nabil Zemmouri, aka @nabil_zemmouri on social media, who delights us every day with anti-waste videos. Throughout the day, both young and old can enjoy cooking workshops to discover recipes and clever tips, demonstrations from guest chefs, roundtable discussions about food insecurity and waste, fun activities to raise awareness among children, and finally a huge manti-waste market, to put into practice everything you'll learn throughout the day!
