In recent days, many people have fallen into a kind of post-Olympics gloom, aptly named "JOstalgia." It's a situation everyone understands, and some places in Paris and its surroundings aren't shy about using it to attract plenty of visitors. That's exactly the case with this castle, which promises visitors free entry under certain... very JO-themed conditions.

Five days after the closing ceremony of the Olympics, which, while it may not have reached the level of the opening ceremony, still gave us some beautiful moments, the magic of the Games continues to thrill the entire capital. We must say that our athletes truly excelled, bringing home a total of 64 medals, including 16 gold ones. And just to honor these Olympic champions, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte had a rather unique idea.

We've already shared our feelings several times, but the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is, by far, the coolest in the entire region. Firstly, because it is absolutely magnificent, and its candlelit evenings are breathtaking, and its vast park is delightful...

the perfect spot for a picnic and a countryside afternoon, and lastly because it has an absolutely incredible history.

It should be noted that without Vaux-le-Vicomte, there would be no Château de Versailles, which has now become one of the symbols of France. Indeed, upon discovering the estate of the Finance Intendant Nicolas Fouquet, the king was so jealous that he ordered the construction of his...a clean castle, in Versailles, soaking up a number of elements that make Vaux-le-Vicomte such an incredible place. He was so jealous that legend has it that he had Fouquet arrested (true story) and that he then became the famous man in the iron mask (to be verified). In any case, the story is as wild as the place.
