JO obliges, the Palais de la Porte Dorée and its Grand Festival are putting sports in the spotlight this year. A series of activities, meetings, and cultural events not to be missed, to fight together against the discriminations still too present in this field.
There's going to be some sports! For this new edition, the Palais de la Porte Dorée is ready, with a program as sporty as it is instructive. The institution invites committed artists, like stand-up comedian Tahnee, to address necessary societal issues in order to educate against discrimination. And to mark this sports year, Hortense Belhôte revisits the history of women's football, while the unmissable Dictation for All, read among others by Waly Dia, tackles the notions of inequalities and racism in sports. And to top it all off, workshops, documentary screenings, and musical readings complement this educational event. Let's get active and informed together! 🏃🏼♀️🏀📚🎶Voir cette publication sur Instagram

The Great Trial of Sports: A Debate of the Times
Get ready for the event of the week, a fascinating debate-performance addressing inequalities and discrimination in the world of sports. Explore past and present discriminations in sports, uncovering the biases and prejudices at play. How can we work towards a more equitable future? The French Debate Federation delves into these questions, inviting us to reflect.
Inspired by a real court trial, this grand event will delve into the history of sports, highlighting impactful stories like that of champion Alfred Nakache, known as the swimmer of Auschwitz, and the journey of Pierre de Coubertin, the visionary behind the modern Olympics.
With 6 days of free programming including dance, lectures, screenings, and workshops, this event shines a light on the ongoing battle against racism and anti-Semitism. A not-to-be-missed experience.
