When we walk through the door of Tribu, time stops. No more hurried walkers trying to get to work on time, no more frantic honking from annoyed drivers, no more hustle and bustle of Boulevard de La Chapelle. Suddenly, the noise of Paris fades away, replaced by the sweetness and laughter of children. In this bright and wooden café, which opened on September 6th, you automatically feel like you're in a cozy cocoon. Welcomed by Sandra's smiling face and Ines's contagious energy, you can finally take a deep breath and settle down, alone or with family, at one of the many tables with pastel chairs. It's the long-awaited break that you've been craving in your busy daily life. [Image: Dagmara Bojenko] Source: Le Bonbon website
Making life easier for families

Being accessible to everyone, especially parents with young children, that's the essence of Tribu. "We wanted to make life easier for families and take away the mental burden of logistics," explains Sandra. At the back of the main room, a space has been specially designed to store strollers. In terms of hygiene, a large room has been set up on the ground floor, adapted for both adults and children. "In Paris, the toilets are often in the basement and without a changing table, which is not practical," remarks Ines.

Through this establishment of nearly 160m2., the two women wanted to "create a warm place, where connections are made. We try to meet all the neighborhood's demands". The turning point? Both becoming mothers during the pandemic. "Motherhood has completely changed our priorities and desires", says Sandra. From their meeting at the daycare center, the desire to leave their previous jobs in luxury marketing and public relations was born, to dedicate themselves to this project: building their new tribe."

An offer suitable for both young and old

Just like with the bathroom facilities, at Tribu, "what exists for adults also exists for children". Alongside the traditional offerings, you can find mini hot chocolates, mini cappuccinos (flavored milk foam), and even mini syrups with water on the menu. "The little ones always want to do what the grown-ups do". There, they feel valued with their little cup, "says Sandra. Most of the products are organic, and the treats offered come directly from local merchants, with the aim of creating a local dynamic.

Alongside the numerous tables, a play area with wooden toys and a cabin from floor to ceiling. "For one child, it will be a boat, for another it will be something completely different," Ines explains. "This space stimulates the imagination, it's a blank page that we can fill however we want," adds her colleague.

Bringing Good to the Body and Mind

In addition to drinks and treats, numerous classes and workshops are offered at Tribu. Ines and Sandra invite specialized instructors in their respective fields to interact with groups of around 8 people, in the two specially designated rooms located at the back of the café and in the basement.

For adults, pilates and yoga classes in all their forms take place throughout the week. And once again, the little ones are not left out. because yoga, judo, dance, language, fine arts, theater, and even coding classes are available to them as extracurricular activities. A place to pass through, a place to live, at Tribu, we relax, we move, we exchange, we never get bored. « The other day, someone told us that they felt at home here. It was the best compliment we could receive, » say the two managers.
