It’s definitely one of the most delicious plans for summer in Paris. Set up every summer in the beautiful gardens of the Carnavalet Museum since 2022, the temporary restaurant Fabula makes way for Joli, which will be a permanent feature so you can enjoy this magical place and the good food that comes with it all year round.

How to fall in love with Paris again

Housed in two private mansions in the Marais, the Carnavalet Museum has become an ideal hideaway to get lost in: period signs hanging from the ceiling, reconstructed rooms, objects from the Revolution, portraits of forgotten women, golden ballrooms, and photos by Cartier-Bresson... Each room is a capsule, each display case a door to a memory. You’ll encounter architecture students sketching with charcoal, amazed tourists, and Parisian folks taking a lunch break who come to “just see something.” And that light that fills the space...Light from the tall windows rests on the moldings, inviting you to stay there all day long.

An unforgettable dinner

As evening falls, when the last shadows glide on the 17th-century facades, Joli sets up its tables on the terrace in the secret garden of the Carnavalet Museum. Protected from the hustle and bustle of the Marais, nestled among the neatly trimmed bushes...French and the old blond stones, it's a scene of a suspended dinner. The murmur of conversations, the gentle sway of the leaves, glasses clinking in the golden light of dusk.

At the helm, Issac Romero, a roaming chef who has journeyed through Tokyo and Mexico, creates a vibrant and vegetable-focused menu. The whole eggplant arrives melt-in-your-mouth, caramelized with dark beer and miso. The raw sea bream rests on a marinade of seaweed and raspberry, enhanced with a hint of Sichuan pepper... The mixologist Clément Brousset has crafted a menu that’s just as delightful. ```Like the setting: a mocktail with filtered gazpacho, Granny Smith Calvados, and eucalyptus, or Charente vodka with smoked rhubarb. Everything is beautiful, inventive, and never feels forced.

And to finish on a sweet note: a spiced tarte tatin, a chocolate mousse with red miso, or an airy strawberry cake with vanilla cream and lime zest. All crafted by Paloma Laguette, a pastry virtuoso.

Joli is an understatement!
