In the family of hidden little restaurants tucked away in alleys that look like a movie set, I present to you Rouge Do! A vibrant red Vietnamese eatery, nestled on Rue Sainte-Marthe in the 10th district, where you come to savor flavors in a gentle, exotic atmosphere. Inside, everything is just the right size: raw walls, light wood, plants here and there, soft lighting... the vibe is calm, and our nervous system is happy!
A Family Story
What else would you expect on the most colorful street in the capital where cuisines from around the world come together? At the helm of this little gem are two brothers and a sister from Vietnamese parents. It’s in their grandmother’s kitchen, and later in their mother’s restaurant, that the flavors and secrets of their family’s cuisine from the land of the lotus have been passed down. Here, there’s no need for over-the-top theatrics to charm you: a well-cooked dish, a warm family welcome, and a cozy room filled with the aroma of caramel are more than enough!
nous faire revenir. And spoiler: we're coming back.Love on a Plate
At Rouge Do, not surprisingly, everything is homemade, and the attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed. The star dish is undoubtedly the Thịt kho : perfectly tender caramel pork, which melts in your mouth like a childhood memory, served with fragrant rice and homemade pickles. But what truly makes us shiver with excitement is the Do Bun : a big bowl of cold vermicelli, herbs galore (if you're not a fan of cilantro, better give a heads-up in the kitchen), with lemongrass chicken or crispy tofu, all drizzled with a perfectly balanced homemade sauce. It's a delightful mix of crunchy, creamy, tangy, sweet... all the textures and flavors come together beautifully.

For those in a hurry, the banh mì is definitely worth the detour: crusty-soft bread from a local baker, a generous filling of satay pork or grilled tofu, crunchy pickles, and a bouquet of cilantro.
At Rouge Do, even the desserts have that little taste of “come back for more”. The chè chuối, this creamy gem made with tapioca and coconut milk, wraps your palate like a tropical hug. And for chocolate lovers, the dark chocolate ginger fondant packs a punch. Moist, intense, and just twisted enough to keep you from napping.
Quick tip: come early at lunch or remember to make a reservation, as the place fills up quickly. And no wonder: it's tasty, beautiful, affordable, and warm. A true neighborhood gem, just the way we love it.
