In Spanish, "esquinita" means "little corner". The name was chosen by both owners because before they lived on Rue de la Lune, the small shop was located a few meters away on Rue Notre-Dame-de-Recouvrance, at the corner of a building. After a while, the Mexican grocery store had to move to a bigger space, and for a good reason: La Esquinita delivers its products all over France! Located just a stone's throw away from the Grand Rex in the 2nd arrondissement, the Mexican grocery store has been managed since 2017 by Nicolas and Fernando, two Mexican friends who met in Paris a few years ago and delight all the Latin cuisine aficionados! A temple of Mexican cuisine: A true concentration of Mexico in the heart of Paris, La Esquinita is like a little corner of Mexico where you can find a wide variety of authentic products. From spices and sauces to traditional Mexican snacks and beverages, this grocery store has everything you need to bring the flavors of Mexico into your home. They also offer ready-to-eat dishes, made with love and using traditional recipes, for those looking for a taste of Mexico without the hassle of cooking. From making your own tortillas to creating delicious salsas, these workshops are a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and culinary traditions of Mexico. La Esquinita is not just a grocery store, it is a place where you can experience the vibrant and delicious world of Mexican cuisine. So why not take a trip to this little corner of Mexico in Paris and let your taste buds travel to the land of sombreros, mariachis, and spicy flavors!">The grocery store imports the majority of its products directly from Latin America. On the program: plenty of wheat and corn tortillas, frijoles, all kinds of salsa, hard-to-find snacks, dried peppers, tequila, mezcal... In short, a true Mexican version of Ali Baba's cave.

If you're a fan of spicy food, this little shop is also a true haven for hot sauce lovers. From classic habanero pepper sauces to more exotic ones that mix clementine, mango, or even blueberry, there's something for every taste and tolerance... Beware, because some of them are seriously hot.

.Two Mexicans in Paris One thing is certain, the managers know their products like the back of their hand. Not surprising when you consider that Fernando is a former chef. The fortysomething from Puebla actually came to France over 20 years ago to attend a culinary school. Nicolas, on the other hand, is a former journalist from Morelos, who arrived in Paris 35 years ago after meeting a French woman, whom he is now married to. Originally, the two partners wanted to import products from all regions of Mexico to feed the Latin community settled in Paris. Today, the store's clientele includes many restaurants and Parisians in search of the products that make Mexican cuisine rich and tasty. As you can see, we've had aA real crush for La Esquinita.
