The Editor

In Paris, a new spot is shaking up the restaurant outing experience. Both a gallery and a bistro table, Rencontre offers a visual and culinary experience. The concept? To create a dialogue between the artworks on display and the dishes crafted by the resident chef, blending inspirations in a delightful way. All enhanced by an unexpected pairing of dishes and teas that transforms the meal into a true sensory journey.

Dinner or exhibit, why choose?

A new address where you can dine in the heart of an exhibition, Rencontre prides itself on introducing us to new artists beyond the walls of museums and galleries, all mixed with a refined gastronomic cuisine. Whether for lunch or dinner, the artworks adorning the walls gradually reveal themselves throughout the meal, plate by plate. And for good reason: each dish coming from the kitchen was conceived by the chef, inspired by the art that fills the space, from colors to flavors. A truly original way to...

to create a dialogue between the plate and the works, where every detail matters and where we take as much pleasure in contemplating as we do in tasting.

Between Cooking and Photography

Who’s in charge of the kitchen right now? It’s the amazing Chef Hugo Ouanounou, a rising star from the new generation of chefs. With a blend of influences from music, contemporary art, and cinema, he creates a cuisine where every plate tells a story. He trained under the triple Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Anton at Prè Catel.he now has a strong taste for the flavors of the world.

Opposite him, the works of the artist Eric Outhenin Chalandre, who has dediated his life to photography. His sensitive and profoundly humanist gaze is marked by his numerous travels, especially in India, China, and Madagascar. In his photographs, he plays with light and reflections in the water, creating poetic and contemplative images. A decidedly sensitive artistic and culinary residency, to be discovered until the end of March.

Out with the wine… in with the tea!

The little extra touch? The pairing of exceptional dishes and teas, where each recipe is served with its own warm brew to elevate the experience. Indeed, the restaurant offers a five-course tasting menu (with two appetizers, two main dishes, and a dessert) served alongside five carefully selected teas. Of course, a wine pairing is also available, but it’s the tea pairing that particularly captured our attention (and our taste buds).

Among the notable pairings: a dish of soy-glazed carrots with sea urchin tongues, accompanied by a tea scented with turmeric and ginger. Or the raviolo di Murano with shredded duck, smoked scamorza cream, sage, and sofrito, served with a deeper tea that brings out all the flavors of the dish. A culinary experience as original as it is delicious, proving that tea can be a major gastronomic ally.
