If you are looking for a friendly place, where you can drink good wines, eat well, and make some friends along the way, then you are in the right place. Le Barré is the perfect alliance between a bistro, a wine bar, and a neighborhood hangout that everyone agrees on. We have an abundance of natural wines, absolutely amazing dishes, and a manager with a contagious smile.

A wine bar created among friends

Have you ever wondered what your daily life would be like if you opened a bar with your friends? Gildas, also known as Gigi, did it! Well, almost. In 2016, this big guy opened his first establishment, a restaurant called La Méduse, on the banks of the Saint-Martin canal, before moving to rue du Général-Renault, in the 11th arrondissement, two years later. In 2022, Gigi decided to sell his establishment, which will be taken over by someone else under the name "Tire-Bouchon".

Without success for the last one, Gigi eventually came back, but this time accompanied. Hearing about the return of their forever HQ, the most loyal customers of La Méduse decided to team up with their favorite host to create a brand new establishment: Le Barré. Why this name? As soon as he arrived at his new wine bar, Gigi crossed out the old name of the establishment with a big spray of paint. Without hesitation, the partners had found the new identity of the restaurant. That's how, since March 2023, Bertrand, Lola, Nassim, Ziad, and many other friends now gather (almost) every evening around the counter, laughing and sharing their stories, to the point that we would almost want to be part of their group too.

Good food and good drinks

Enough with stories, Le Barré is above all a very (very) beautiful place where you can eat well and drink well.Come and have a drink and a bite to eat. On the menu: delicious small plates to share, cheese and charcuterie boards, and for those with bigger appetites, two dishes and two desserts to choose from. While the establishment doesn't adhere to traditional restaurant codes, Gigi and Chef Côme Farlay pride themselves on everything here being of the highest quality.

On that day on the menu: Cadoret fine oysters, glazed endive with meat juice and fennel cream, smoked thyme gravlax trout, duck fillet and Swiss chard and lard mille-feuille... A variety of beautiful plates that make our mouths water just thinking about them. But the biggest banger on the menu is none other than the Korean fried chicken and its passion fruit sauce. Crispy and juicy at the same time, you won't be able to resist it. We can't leave without trying the lost brioche with lime zest and fleur de sel (the best we've ever tasted), so tender it's as if it were Kouign-amann.

And what would a wine bar be without its good bottles? About a hundred references, natural or biodynamic, are available. All of them have been carefully selected from small independent producers by Gigi andI can recommend the best.

At the end of the evening, we leave with full bellies of good food and especially with stars in our eyes because it's exactly the kind of place we want to come back to every night. If you have to remember only one sentence, here it is: here, we love to party around good food and

From the wine. Message received, we'll be back! The Barré 3, rue du Général-Renault – 11th Tel: 06 11 41 28 53 Open every evening from Mon. to Sat. from 6pm to midnight Instagram: @le_barre_paris11

This game lets you put your knowledge of the Parisian metro to the test!

After racking your brain to name as many French cities as you can, or trying to list all the Paris metro stations, here's a new puzzle that will challenge many. By combining speed and knowledge of the network, the website Metroguessr challenges you to see how well you know the Paris metro, its lines, stops, and connections. ### Geoguessr for Parisians For those unfamiliar with the concept of Geoguessr, here's a summary: on Google Street View, you are randomly dropped at a location around the world, and you have to find your location in the most accurate way possible in record time. Well, with Metroguessr, it's the same concept. For 1 minute, the map offers random points on the map, and you only have the color of the line concerned (or lines, in case of correspondence) as a clue. The principle is very simple, in 60 seconds, you have to name as many as possible.Let's have some brain-teasing fun! Getting a correct answer will earn you 5 points, but be careful, passing each station will make you lose 1 point. Those big train stations are easy to guess, but others can be tricky. Between Saint-Sulpice and Saint-Placide, it's easy to get lost for at least 15 seconds. Did you even know that Falguière was in the 15th arrondissement? The key takeaway here is that time flies by in 60 seconds, even though the answers are there, hinted from the start. So, it's best to team up and be quick on your feet. You'll thank us later.
