Taibi Abderrahmane – affectionately called Mamane – is 86 years young and still on his feet, always at the stove. He cooks in his cozy little shop in the 13th, located on rue des Cinq-Diamants, and has long been considered THE best restaurant for a delicious couscous. And for good reason, because here love and generosity take center stage, and you can taste it in every single bite.
The Institution of the 13th
A cozy couscous bistro, just like they used to make. At Mamane, it’s a true gem in the Butte-aux-Cailles neighborhood, where the artworks of Miss.Tic tagged on the walls blend perfectly with the aromas of spicy broth. People come here for the homey vibe, felt from the warm welcome to the hearty couscous served up simply at the table. You elbow in, share the semolina and vegetables, and just enjoy. Here, there’s no room for a cold storage; everything is bought fresh every day, and that’s what makes all the difference and brings the freshness! Here's the translation in English with the HTML tags preserved:
Served dishes. So yes, when there are no more, there are no more, but at least we can be sure of having 100% fresh when we come back the next day!

The Berber couscous that warms Paris
Neighborhood regulars have been coming here for 30 years to savor that same delicious couscous flavor. And while Mamane remains in place, even at his age, he has passed his recipe down to his son Fawzi, who continues – with just as much generosity – to uphold the Berber traditions.
One of her family members. Once seated at the table, the feast begins: fine semolina, flavorful broth served in ladles full, choice cuts of meat including slow-cooked lamb, leg of lamb, chicken wings, and grilled merguez... And to end on a high note, we warm our hands (and hearts) with mint tea, where we dip a makrout or a corne de gazelle, baked not far away at the oriental pastry shop Le P’tit Souk.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
