The Editor

Behind this new address open since February, we find Hugo, 31 years old, with a contagious good mood and a mini-star in the kitchen. With over 150K on Insta, he has made the web drool by giving a twist to the great Lebanese classics with a diaspora flair. Italian mom, Lebanese dad, he grew up surrounded by candied lemon zest and al dente risottos. His restaurant reflects his personality: mixed and radiant.

Reinvented Lebanese Cuisine

At Mazmez, we invite you to forget everything you think you know about Lebanese cuisine. Here, there are no clichés or lukewarm tabbouleh made with tired parsley. Each plate tells a story, a blend, a journey. The house-made labneh is complemented by sweet beetroot and blood orange to awaken your taste buds. The chickpeas nestle in a zucchini fatteh drizzled with tahini sauce, and this baked egg, snuggled in mushroom cream and served with lamb confit containing seven spices... a plate full of emotion born from Hugo's memories, between two grandmothers: one who took him mushroom picking in the forest, and the other who simmered lamb confit. For dessert, enjoy the poached pear with cardamom in whipped mascarpone cream, resting on a bed of crispy kadaif. Light, floral, sublime.

All in Color and Transparency

Everything in this place exudes a sensitivity to detail and transparency. The decor, envisioned by the Lyon-based agency Obier, blends recycled materials, warm wood tones, and Levantine inspirations. The cuisine follows a philosophy of seasonality and sustainable agriculture. The meats are French, farmed, and halal, house-made cocktails are crafted with love by Célya, and Lebanese hospitality is celebrated as a way of life.

And for those who find choosing a challenge, Hugo has everything planned out: the menu Kell Shi, which takes you on a sensory journey for just €35, all included. Two savory plates, one sweet, and a drink. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy!
