For the beautiful days of spring, a new food court spot will open our appetite. Located in the heart of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, HOBA will open its doors from June 2nd to June 5th for its inauguration. Initiated by the team behind Hasard Ludique, this temple of conscious and gourmet gastronomy is establishing itself sustainably in the ten hectares of the Martin Luther King park, in the eco-district of Clichy-Batignolles. On the menu? Numerous flavors from around the world. Mediterranean canteen (Baobab Lab), 100% homemade Japanese street food (Just Ramen), Latin-vegetable cuisine (Sol Semilla), English muffins with a French touch (Mouflet), or revisited falafels prepared by refugees (Le Falaf)... this varied menu will surely delight all taste buds in a dreamy setting. And if you come on Friday, June 3rd, you can fill your belly while listening to the DJ set of Sauce Blanche, who became known for organizing music sessions with emerging artists in kebab shops. For this project, the City of Paris has decided to give the keys to two buildings that have been vacant for ages to the Hasard Ludique, for a period of fifteen years. Divided into "HO" and "BA", this place will welcome the public on its XXL terrace with stunning views and its former nineteenth-century forge.

Awareness workshops

While the dedicated chefs will succeed in satisfying all stomachs, they also have the mission of encouraging citizens to consume and nourish themselves in a more responsible way. Beyond the plate and a good moment of sharing, it is a true space for exchange and reflection that will take place, thanks to a rich program.Round tables, masterclasses, podcasts and live tastings, cooking classes with chefs, quizzes, debates... Many societal and ecological topics related to food will be discussed, from the history of Afro-veganism to queer cuisine, and even the inclusion of insects in our plates or gender equality in the kitchen. Behind these very serious themes, each chef will take pleasure in sharing their passion through their individuality. We can count on the sharp humor of Vins & Volailles to celebrate wine in an engaged and deconstructed way. Known for their committed bottles, discovered by feminist Fleur Godart, this essential wine merchant will also offer a tasting of militant wines. As for personalities, chef Alice Roca will reveal the secrets of her seasonal plant-based cuisine, enhanced by the flowers from her Normandy garden. After the documentary screening...In search of women chefs by Vérane Frédiani, Nora Bouazzouni, and Estérelle Payany, two authors, will attempt to debunk the enduring stereotypes: no, salads are not reserved for women and steaks for men.

The food of the future

Starting from the alarming fact that the industrial agri-food sector disrupts the climate and disrupts ecosystems, HOBA wants to point out the problem of pollution in our plates, the intensive use of chemical pesticides - of which France is the largest user in Europe - and alert a wide audience about food waste. While some activities are paid, like cooking classes, other events are accessible by registration. Through concrete actions, HOBA wants to prove that it is possible to continue eating intelligently without sacrificing pleasure, while being respectful of the environment.
