An inspiring and inspired journey
The adventure begins when the duo of friends arrive on the small Scottish island of Islay. On board a van and guided by two foragers, they set out to discover the 22 wild and local plants that make up The Botanist gin, created on site by the nonconformist and authentic Bruichladdich distillery. "It was fascinating to see that the time of year has a real impact on the taste of a plant. From one day to the next, it goes from having a mundane flavor to something extraordinary! There's a real seasonality to it," shares the Michelin-starred chef. It's therefore only natural that Adam Hannett, master distiller, opens the doors of the Bruichladdich distillery to show them all its secrets.
An extraordinary gastronomic menu
Strong of this beautiful meeting between enthusiasts and this incredible expedition, the former Top Chef imagines an ephemeral gastronomic menu composed of 10 herbaceous and iodized dishes. The opportunity to experience a wonderful culinary excursion through the unique flavors that make up The Botanist, all accompanied by a cocktail imagined by the talented mixologist Margot Anna Lecarpentier. To help him in his creation, the cocktail artist actually went to meet Valentine Diguet - a botanical expert - in the forest of Saint-Cloud and gave birth to a delicious cocktail based on The Botanist gin and freshly picked herbs that will enhance the dinner.
A visual work of art
The restaurant NE/SO will also showcase the most beautiful photos by Brice Portolano - known for his shots that emphasize the relationship between man and nature - exhibited in the style of a travel journal..
