Often, when you go to a concert, especially if it's your favorite artist on stage, there's always a little frustration when the show ends: it was too short, they didn't play your favorite song, you didn't get to dance enough… To ease that feeling, Freestyle Villette has found the perfect solution: a show that never stops… or almost never. Since Wednesday, September 2nd at noon, and until Sunday, September 6th until 4pm, the venue will have you grooving to some of the most talented artists of the moment.

A world record in sight

Back in 2011, Pauline Raignault launched The 50 Hours of Non-Stop Rap, where Oxmo Puccino, Orelsan, Seth Gueko, L'Algérino and X-Men had taken the stage back then. 15 years later, she's

decided to fire up the machine, this time with an even crazier challenge : The 100 Hours of Non-Stop Rap. The concept is simple, over 4 days and 4 hours, no fewer than 350 rappers, DJs and beatmakers will take turns on the Freestyle Villette stage, to deliver to us the longest freestyle in history. A challenge that will officially kick off Saturday, September 5 at 4pm, in the presence of Guinness judges, to attempt to break the world record for the greatest number of rappers freestyling in relay.

A truly tempting setlist

To make the event as accessible and inclusive as possible, Pauline Raignault called upon major names in the genre from several generations of rappers. So it was Fianso who kicked things off this Wednesday at noon, and will be joined over 4 days by artists like Kacem Wapalek, Youssef Swatt's — winner of Nouvelle École in 2024 — Hayce Lemsi, Busta Flex, Alibi Montana, Kohndo and Nakk Mendosa, alongside emerging talents selected through a national competition. Every hour, five of them will pass the mic to each other over a live beat, to showcase their lyrics and flow. And to get into the event, it's simple—just grab a ticket on La Villette's website, which gives you access to the perfoperformances for a 3-hour slot !
