42 years ago, on June 21, 1982, the Ministry of Culture, under the direction of Jack Lang, created a national celebration now well known to everyone: the Fête de la Musique. Celebrated every year on June 21, a day that also marks the beginning of summer, the event brings together musicians of all kinds, amateurs or professionals, across France and around the world, with over 120 participating countries. Free concerts, showcasing amateur groups, festive street parades... there is no shortage of activities! And if every restaurant, bar, or cultural institution in the capital lends a hand to make this event a big collective celebration, this year again, the Ministry of Culture is offering a unique program in the heart of the Palais-Royal gardens. On the agenda: a concert with headphones by "La Muse en circuit" and fanfares of all kinds. Musical Styles.

A day of free concerts in the gardens of the Palais-Royal

From 1:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. this Friday, June 21 , the gardens of the Palais-Royal will be transformed into a true temple of music! With free access, this day of concerts will be open to all music lovers, young and old.

We start the afternoon beautifully with four batucadas from the Léo Lagrange Federation of Popular Education, represented by around forty young people from Angers, Salins-les-Bains, Grenoble, and Paris. From 4 pm, a series of brass bands will then set fire to the gardens of the Palais-Royal: Los Kepitos Txaranga, straight from the Basque Country, La Grande Masse des Beaux-Arts and Paris Brass Band, two Parisian brass bands, La Vaillante, coming from Hauts-de-France, and finally Caribop, originating from Val-de-Marne.

At the end of the day, from 8:30 pm to 9:15 pm, a big concert organized in partnership with RATP will honor the musicians of the metro with the band Kalala Soul, revealed by the Musicians of the subway program.

Subway created in 1997.

A unique headphone concert in the world

In addition to the brass bands, the Ministry of Culture also offers a unique experience of a headphone concert. The concept? You will be immersed in an electro-acoustic musical atmosphere using a pair of headphones while strolling through the gardens, discovering their treasures. More than just a concert, everyday sounds are transformed by technology into musical chimeras, while voices, lyrical or storytelling, blend current events with mythology, philosophy, and poetry, for a musical immersion that transforms the world through the ear.

The experience unfolds interactively between the already moving audience and passersby, who can join the performance; a specific mediation action will also be set up for visually impaired individuals. Four 30-minute sessions will be available, by reservation, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and then four more from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, totaling eight sessions. The concert is the work of "La Muse en circuit", supported by the National Center for Musical Creation in Alfortville.
