When autumn comes, Halloween is right around the corner! And for the creepiest among you, the celebration lasts all month long in October! Lucky for us, Paris has a bunch of spooky events lined up, including the fantastic screening of Francis Ford Coppola's film Dracula, with a live orchestra at the Philharmonie de Paris for three special evenings!

A Classic of Vampire Cinema

A masterpiece by Coppola – known for big classics, from Apocalypse Now to The GodfatherDracula (1992) is a adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel published in 1897, one of the most popular books in English literature. It's no wonder it has inspired about thirty big-screen adaptations since the dawn of cinema, including the iconic Nosferatu by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, released in 1922.

In his version, Francis Ford Coppola casts the brilliant Gary Oldman as the terrifying Count Dracula, alongside Anthony Hopkins, Winona Ryder, and Keanu Reeves. For the soundtrack, the director enlisted the help of Polish composer Wojciech Kilar, a key factor in creating the eerie atmosphere that follows us throughout the film. In short, a wonderful lineup of artists that have made this work a classic in cinema.

An Immersive Experience at the Philharmonie

To (re)discover Dracula in Coppola's style, what could be better than a session at the Philharmonie de Paris? The institution warmly invites us on October 21, 22, and 23, to the heart of the Grande salle Pierre Boulez – aka the most beautiful venue for shows and concerts in the capital – for a spine-tingling movie concert with the Orchestre de Paris. Alongside them, you'll find a five-star cast: Frank Strobel conducting, Neïma Naouri singing, and Richard Wilberforce.
