With stores that vary in selection, price, and style, it can be tricky to navigate through this jungle of second-hand boutiques. From the budget-friendly vintage shop to the chic thrift stores, here’s a guide to help you find your perfect treasure!


The prettiest thrift stores in Paris

Buying new is so last season... To help you become the most stylish Parisian, we're taking you on a tour of our favorite thrift stores in the capital. There’s something for everyone! Vintage, Y2K, streetwear, chic, bohemian... All you need to do is find your style. Plus, you’re doing something cool for the planet: buying second-hand clothes means one less item purchased from a super polluting and often not very ethical fast fashion brand.


RETRO 

We’ve been dreaming for ages of a place where thrift stores mean good vibes, uniqueness, and especially fair prices. Luckily, our superhero RETRO has been here for 4 years now, making our wishes come true. If you haven’t discovered it yet, this is a spot that will soon become (very) hard to resist. With an airy space... ; and 320 m2 (that's quite spacious!) and well-organized clothes, you can easily wander through the aisles without having to dig too deep. Every piece offered here is unique and rejuvenated. You'll always find Olena, a Ukrainian painter settled in the latest area of the shop, ready to present us with unique and extraordinary pieces, perfect for standing out while enjoying art and staying engaged... Isn't that appealing? Up on the top floor, you can relax to a super cool 90s playlist , while the basement opens up to a stylish, more underground techno vibe.

But more than just a thrift store, this vintage shop is a true vibrant space because once a month, a tattoo artist sets up for the day and offers stylish flash tattoos along with an amazing DJ set to spice up your afternoon from 2 PM to 8 PM, or even longer if the vibe is right! Fabien shares that he’s still thinking about finding d;other ideas to always surprise us… You’ve got it, we’ve totally fallen for  this Parisian temple of second-hand fashion !

Located just a stone's throw from Saint-Paul, it’s THE perfect shop for vintage treasure lovers! Much more than just a thrift store, The Vintagelovers is a vintage shop, meaning that each piece you find here is handpicked and curated by Laura. Modern'fripe

Here, you can be sure to find gems for just a fraction of the price! This charming little shop that opened at the end of 2023 offers a short but impeccable collection of clothing from the 80s and 90s, as well as iconic pieces from other eras. Among the treasures to discover, Land's End coats for only €20, tailored Italian pants for the same price, trench coats, and a selection of incredibly soft mohair sweaters for just €15. Retro style enthusiasts will love it!

Free'p'Star

Sure, the smell isn't the most inviting and it can get a bit crowded. It's warm and you might have to jostle a little. At the same time, this thrift shop is located right in the heart of the Marais, where everyone goes shopping. Avoid going on weekends or in the evening, and you’ll score some amazing finds. You could say this place is a bit of a star among thrift shops because the selection is huge! Outfits for a night out, military jackets, hats, "Pigalle" boots… you’re bound to find something you love and the prices are super low. Don’t forget to check out the little mezzanine of this vintage shop!

Just dig through, examine the clothes closely, and you’ll discover THE unexpected treasure for a ridiculously low price. Feel free to visit this vintage shop in the 18th often, as they restock pretty regularly.

Here, you'll find second-hand clothing priced between €1 and €15 (or €5 to €50 for vintage), catering to all styles and tastes. Plus, Alizée and Sarah, the brains behind the project, offer monthly workshops over coffee to foster social connections and teach better consumption habits. And that's not all! For nearly 10 years, Bis Boutique Solidaire has been shining a light on second-hand clothing with its constantly refreshed, high-quality selection at fair prices (maximum 20% of the new price). But wait, there’s more: when you buy 4 items, the 5th is free. It’s safe to say we have the ultimate temple for great deals right here. With two locations in central Paris, just a few minutes from Place de la Nation, ZXSBN6DD3VZBGSY offers a quirky décor: on one side, there’s a bathroom that’s strikingly realistic (you can even check out a real toilet, thankfully clean), and on the other side, a wild jungle under the grip of nature.

The Dirty Thieves

Have you always dreamed of robbing a bank? Now's your chance! At the Dirty Thieves, we break into a bank vault with one aim: to score the best deals. Here, the prices change throughout the week: on Sunday, the day when all the shop's clothes get refreshed, everything in the store is just €4.50. Then, it drops a bit each day: €3.50 on Monday, €2.50 on Tuesday, €1.50 on the...Wednesday and up to €0.95 on Thursday. The price then goes back to €4.50 on Friday, since all the clothes in the shop are renewed again, then €3.50 on Saturday… and so on. Since then, those sneaky thieves have doubled up in the 5th, with a shop that looks like an underground tunnel, and in the 14th with a real penitentiary.
