An exceptional career among the greatest
If he had lived today, André Charles Boulle would most certainly have been given the title of designer. Through the development and use of prestigious techniques, such as marquetry or gilt bronze, the cabinetmaker revolutionized the furniture of the time for the Sun King, the Grand Dauphin, or even the Duchess of Burgundy. A remarkable career, celebrated all summer long at Château de Chantilly.

A journey through time
In a princely setting, we are transported over 3 centuries back to discover ancient pieces, some of which are reintroduced for the first time into the Château since 1793. An effective way to showcase...The central role of Boulle in the evolution of French furniture, especially with the invention of the 4-legged flat desk, placing his work in a specific historical context. An influence that continues to be seen in more modern creations today.
