1. Hi, My name is Lili and we are many -Lili Reynaud-Dewar
Lili Reynaud-Dewar is a multi-talented artist. She dances, speaks, writes, teaches, creates objects, makes video installations, films, and magazines. She takes over the Palais de Tokyo for the autumn season with videos where she shows her nude and silver dancing body. But it is the projections of interviews conducted with her entourage that caught our attention the most. Projected above real beds (on which you can actually sit), we see them share their reflections on various societal topics (prostitution, religion, homosexuality...) in the intimate setting of hotel rooms bathed in red light. It feels like we're having a confidential evening with them.
These moments were captured during the creation of the film Gruppo Petrolio exhibited here in 19 parts. Inspired by Pier Paolo Pasolini's book Petroleum, this film explores the effects of oil on society and politics.
ts disastrous from the oil industry, technological progress, gentrification... Result: very touching speeches and a fascinating immersion into the artist's life throughout the journey, supported by excerpts from their diary on the walls.
2. Out of the night of norms, out of the enormous boredom - collective exhibition
Celebrating love, friendship, desire, and sexuality through the works of 20 French and international artists, this collective exhibition challenges the norms that hinder our emotional relationships with a queer and ecofeminist perspective. The title of the exhibition, inspired by a banner from a lesbian demonstration in Geneva in 1982, reflects the humor and lightness that emanate from the exhibition, reminding us that love is a source of joy and freedom. A big favorite is the disco room with tr.Bright triangle and techno music, recalling the queer clubs of the 80s (and still those today!).
