Louvre Couture: Art Objects, Fashion Objects

Although fashion has made a timid appearance at the Louvre Museum during exhibitions in the past, it has never been the main theme of an event at the heart of the most famous museum in Paris. Well, that's all about to change! This week, in harmony with the Men's Fashion Week taking over the capital, the institution is hosting, for the very first time, a retrospective completely dedicated to this unique form of art.

Entitled Louvre Couture: Art Objects, Fashion Objects, this exhibition connects the museum's rich collections with the creations of around forty designers, including  Karl Lagerfeld  as well as Dolce & Gabbana. The presence of textiles is fundamental here, but it's more focused on...

with decorations and tapestries extending to the clothing itself, all spanning nearly 9,000 m2.

exhibition Stephen Jones, Chapeaux d’artiste, dedicated to the creations of Stephen Jones. Though he may not be widely known, this famous British milliner has adorned the heads of the most prominent stars and collaborated with the most renowned fashion houses: Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Louis Vuitton, Thierry Mugler, Schiaparelli and many more.

He also created the hat for Lady Gaga during her performance at the Olympic Games opening ceremony on July 26; more than just simple hats, Stephen Jones transforms headpieces into true works of art. Come admire them now until March 16!

3. From Heart to Hand: Dolce & Gabbana

The artistic season 2025 ofGrand Palais kicks off beautifully with the Paris edition of the exhibition From Heart to Hand, first showcased at the stunning Palazzo Reale in Milan. This retrospective invites you to dive into the heart of the creative process of stylists Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, whose meeting in the 80s marked the birth of Dolce & Gabbana, initially set up as a design consulting studio, gradually becoming one of the most famous fashion houses in the land of the Boot. 

Covering an area of 1,200 m2, spread across ten immersive rooms, the exhibition highlights the numerous sources of inspiration that fueled the creative genius of this Italian duo: the history of art from their home country, music, opera, ballet, and, well...

brand-new exhibition at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, an establishment that showcases the various collections of the haute couture prodigy. This exhibition brings together several iconic pieces to highlight the craftsman's expertise, such as the summer wedding dress worn by Laetitia Casta in 1999, the first embroideries applied in 1962, and the prints from the spring-summer collection of 2001.

5. Stage Jewelry from the Paris Opera

Running since November and until March 28, the dazzling exhibition at the Paris Opera Library showcases the jewelry from its grandest performances. Primarily made from the Second Empire, this fabulous collection includes around 4,000 pieces. While they aren’t made of gold, gems, or diamonds, but rather brass, glass, and rhinestones, these jewels beautifully illustrate the theatrical illusion... It's up to you to confirm it!
