With over 130 theaters in the capital and 300 shows happening each week, it can sometimes be tricky to know where to focus your attention. How can you see a multitude of plays without breaking the bank? Great news, there are tips to spend less or even pay nothing at all while enjoying a grand show in some of the most prestigious venues in Paris.

Free Tickets at the Comédie-Française and the Théâtre de l'Europe

It's especially for those under 26 and sometimes even up to 28 years old that the options are the most advantageous. To enjoy free tickets, head to the Comédie-Française, just that! Every Monday, the famous theater at Place Colette offers 85 completely free tickets for audience members under 28 years old. The only condition is to show up at least an hour before the show starts, at the box office on Rue Richelieu. No reservation is needed, but proof of age will be required. Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe also offers free tickets every Thursday for those aged 18-25.

Tickets go on sale online one week before the performance starting at 6 PM. To get the free admission, you need to use the promo code found on this page every week.

Possible discounts at many Parisian theaters

Many theaters also offer options to get cheaper tickets. The organization Theaters and Associated Producers allows young people under 26 years old to get first or second category tickets for €10 in certain private Parisian theaters, within the limits of available seats and only for performances on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can reserve by phone or directly at the box office. The operation "First to the Firsts" allows you to attend the first performances of a show with a 50% discount on your ticket.

To find cheaper seats, you can also visit the Kiosque Théâtre de la Madeleine. Same-day tickets are offered at great prices, no strings attached. Plus, with the young pass Opéra/Comédie-Française sold for just 20€, those under 28 can enjoy special rates on the highlights of the Comédie-Française and the Opéra national de Paris.
