The Editor

There's probably no need to introduce Yann Arthus-Bertrand anymore. For decades, the photographer has been traveling the planet to deliver poetic and thoughtful portraits of it, capturing its landscapes and its people along the way. This spring, he returns with a new project in the heart of the capital: Living Together. An event initiated by the photographer and the GoodPlanet Foundation to highlight the beauty and diversity of today’s France. The program includes conferences, meetings, exhibitions, and dozens of stunning photos.

An exhibition of a thousand faces

Since the 1990s, Yann Arthus-Bertrand has been exploring the country to discover its inhabitants, their professions, their passions, and their places of living. But it wasn’t until 2023 and a meeting with Hervé Le Bras, a French demographer and historian, that things took a new turn.

to allow the photographer to give a demographic and educational dimension to his project. For 2 years, he decides to capture the faces that make up the Hexagon using a mobile studio. This monumental and essential work, titled France, a family album, is presented outdoors, at the Place de la Concorde, as part of the project Living Together. A poetic and luminous image of our country as it is: diverse, unique, and united, accompanied by a number of other events.

Activities Galore

Indeed, in addition to this free exhibition, accessible to all, Yann Arthus-Bertrand also offers a educational program for students (in partnership with Onisep, WorldSkills France, and Les Compagnons du Devoir), as well as inspiring meetings and conferences, discovery workshops on various trades, cultural events, and key citizen moments. To top it all off, passersby can take a look inside the studio of the humanist artist, to participate in a special project as part of the bicentennial of photography. All of this is 100% free, of course. In short, for a month, it’s a cultural, altruistic, and fabulously enriching experience!
